Welcome to the new Louisiana 511 Traveler Information website.
The new traveler information system was launched by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD) in December 2018.Travelers throughout the state of Louisiana can also access traveler information by cellular and landline telephone by dailing 511. LADOTD's new mobile application is now available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

DOTD staff are in close communication with the National Weather Service, monitoring the forecast and coordinating all emergency operations aspects of the event. They are also working with the Louisiana State Police, local governmental partners, and other stakeholders to communicate the status of closures and other developments.
It’s important to remember that weather conditions can change quickly, and bridges and overpasses can become unsafe for travel before DOTD crews can place barricades.
Drivers should avoid being on the roadways if travel is not necessary.

- Drive slowly and carefully.
- Avoid driving while distracted.
- Always allow for extra driving time.
- Avoid using cruise control.
- Reduce speeds when visibility is low.
- Make sure there is plenty of room between vehicles.
- Always wear your seatbelt.
- Be on the lookout for DOTD crews, other emergency responders, and their equipment.
- Remember that driving around a road-closed barricade is unlawful and unsafe for any reason.
Commercial vehicles such as 18-wheelers are strictly prohibited from driving through the I-20 reconstruction zone in Bossier City to enhance safety and ensure effective traffic flow.
All commercial traffic must use the primary detour of I-220. Failure to adhere to the detour may result in the issuance of a citation under Louisiana Revised Statute 32:237.
